Answers to what you'd rather not have to ask.

Payroll cycles, benefits, PTO, expenses, and the mundane bits that make a workplace hum. If a question shows up here more than twice, we add it.

Draft. The content below is a starting scaffold. Anything marked TBD needs a real answer from Ops before it goes to the wider team.

01 Payroll

When you get paid, how, and what to do when something looks off.

When is payday?

StackDX runs payroll on a semi-monthly cycle — the 15th and the last business day of the month. If either falls on a weekend or holiday, pay lands the business day before. (TBD — confirm exact cadence.)

How do I update my direct deposit or tax withholdings?

Log in to the payroll portal, open Profile → Pay Setup. Changes made before the cutoff (5 business days before payday) apply to the next run.

My pay stub looks wrong — who do I talk to?

Email payroll@stackdx.com with a screenshot and the pay period. Response time is usually one business day.

Where do I find my W-2 / year-end tax docs?

They're posted in the payroll portal by January 31st. You'll also get an email notification.

02 Benefits

Health, dental, vision, retirement, and the perks that don't fit in a summary email.

What health plans does StackDX offer?

Medical, dental, and vision through our benefits provider. Coverage starts the first of the month after your start date. (TBD — link plan comparison PDF.)

How does the 401(k) match work?

StackDX matches 100% of the first 4% you contribute. Vesting is immediate. Enroll or update your contribution in the retirement portal any time.

Is there a wellness or learning stipend?
  • Wellness — $75/month for gym, fitness apps, or classes.
  • Learning — $1,500/year for books, courses, conferences.
  • Reimburse through the expenses tool. See §04.
What's the parental leave policy?

16 weeks paid for the primary caregiver, 8 weeks for the secondary, taken any time in the first year. (TBD — confirm with People Ops.)

03 PTO & Leave

Time off, holidays, and how to request time away without a spreadsheet.

How much PTO do I get?

Unlimited, with a minimum of three weeks a year. Managers are on the hook to make sure you take it.

How do I request time off?

Post it in the PTO channel, mark it on the shared calendar, and give your team at least a week's heads-up for anything longer than two days.

What holidays does StackDX observe?

The federal holiday list, plus a company-wide winter break from Dec 24 through Jan 1.

Sick day policy?

Take one. Let your manager know. No forms.

04 Expenses

What's reimbursable, what needs pre-approval, and how to file.

What's reimbursable without asking?
  • Client meals under $75/person.
  • Software subscriptions for your role, under $50/month.
  • Travel booked through the corporate tool.
  • Your wellness & learning stipends (see §02).
What needs pre-approval?

Anything over $500, conference tickets, and any recurring subscription. Ping your manager with the estimated cost and rationale.

How do I file an expense?

Snap the receipt in the expenses app, tag the category, and submit. Reimbursements hit your next payroll cycle.

Do I need receipts for everything?

Receipts required for anything over $25. Below that, a note in the app is fine.
